We had a great turnout (pun intended… or not, it wasn’t ballet class… this joke has gone on too long) at our first TGIF2 class in January. There were 25 dancers, and, wow, they took up so much space as Kate Walker took them through their paces, challenging them to go upside down, fly, roll, and dive through the studio. Participants included teachers, arts administrators, and company dancers from all over the DFW Metroplex.
As one of the organizers of the class series, I was thrilled and honestly a little shocked to see so many dancers join us. FurtherDance spent the fall taking some time off and regrouping for 2015 and we had been silent for awhile, so I was fully expecting a slow start to our new year of events. I am so glad I was wrong. A huge thank you to Kate for giving such a great class, to all new participants for jumping in with us full force, and to Rachel Wade and Hannah Requa (co-directors of Arlington Heights High School’s Dance Department) for graciously allowing us to use the Arlington Heights studio space.
If you loved Kate’s class (or if you’re sad you missed it!),
I hope you’ll join us for our February class:
