Great class everyone! Thanks for joining us!
Kimi Nikaidoh received her training from Canada’s National Ballet School, the School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and Tanju and Patricia Tuzer. She was a member of the Fort Worth-based Bruce Wood Dance Company for five years, after which she joined Complexions Contemporary Ballet, touring nationally and internationally with the company from 2005 through 2008. Nikaidoh then began a degree in Neuroscience and Behavior at Columbia University, while she continued to perform with various groups, including Bruce Wood Dance Project, Thang Dao Dance Company, Columbia Ballet Collaborative, and Emery LeCrone Dance. She has staged works choreographed by Dwight Rhoden, Emery LeCrone and Bruce Wood and has choreographed her own works, performed in NYC by Complexions Contemporary Ballet (The Joyce Theater), Columbia Ballet Collaborative (Miller Theater), Firebone Theater (Kirk Theater) and members of Bruce Wood Dance Project (The Young Choreographer’s Showcase, Manhattan Movement and Arts Center). She has also created pieces for Youth America Grand Prix (Texas Ballet Theater School, Dallas) and Tuzer Ballet. Nikaidoh was recently named Acting Artistic Director of the Bruce Wood Dance Project.
“Miss Nikaidoh draws from her training with numerous knowledgable teachers in creating her ballet classes. Barre work focuses on clarity and alignment, while center practice engages the dancer in expansive, sweeping movement and musical play. Throughout class, emphasis will be placed on direct, healthy approaches to enjoying ballet technique!”
